As we all slowly work our way back to normalcy we are reaching out to you because we need your help in reaching our fundraising goals for the Met Foundation. The Foursomes 4 the Foundation initiative has become our major source of income for the Foundation and this year looks to be a little more challenging to achieve our goal for a variety of reasons. In short, the more courses that participate, the more likely we can attain our goal.

As member students are currently completing their MetGCSA scholarship applications we need to continue to make sure we have the funds to award those scholarships. Last year the Scholarship Committee awarded $21,050 to 15 students. Additionally, the Board recently increased the amount authorized to be awarded from $20,000 to $30,000 in the event that the association experiences an increase in college aged students. Secondly, the Board recently re-authorized our continuing financial support for the New York Golf Course Foundation for another (3) years to ensure the continued progression of the Best Management Practices for New York State Golf Courses. Finally, the Foundation continues to support our world-class regional turfgrass research institutions such as Rutgers, UMASS, Penn State, URI, Cornell, and UCONN.

Think about all that we are and can accomplish by clubs donating (1) foursome.

We realize that there is uncertainty in the air and some clubs are not allowing guest play or unaccompanied play at this time which is why for this year's auction we are going to have an expiration date of October 2021, not to mention the auction was postponed. Additionally, all listings always include the wording "To be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon date, based on the donor's availability."

Attached is a flyer that outlines the Foursome 4 the Foundation initiative in case you need to provide documentation to any club officials. If you need any further information or have questions please do not hesitate to reach out to Mike McCall by replying to this email.
